Independence Day!

We had a fun 4th of July this year.  We started out the day with L having to work of course because it is the summer and we take no days off during the summer :(... but it was nice because he got off at 5 and then the whole office had a BBQ which was so fun.  It was very hot like 100+ degrees I guess it is record breaking heat out here in Memphis this year.  It is crazy how hot it is, it is like unexplainable hotness, thank goodness for air conditioning.  But we had some yummy food, M.J. tried Watermelon for the first time and he seemed to rather enjoy it!  

Then after the BBQ we went and watched the boys play softball for a while, and then tried to watch fireworks.... unfortunately M.J. is not a fan of fireworks, he did not like them one bit, they scared him like crazy!  So we went home and watched some fireworks on t.v. instead.  I was a little bummed but, we will have many more Independence days were I am sure M.J. will love fireworks so I will just enjoy my time of cuddling him now when he is scared of them!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 10 months to little M.J.

M.J. turned 10 months old on Tuesday! He is such a cute little boy and everyday he gets cuter.  He has just a sweet fun personality, and I am so lucky he is such a good boy.  He is standing on his own as of two weeks ago, and he is starting to take his first steps!!!! I can't believe it soon he will be walking all over the place...... if I can get shoes on him haha!  He has taught himself how to open doors as well (not so good) but it is so cute because he has to stand on his tippy toes to even reach the handle so it is so cute to watch!!  He loves most food, but he does this weird thing were he takes bites of things and then just spits it out... I don't know if thats normal but it doesn't bug me except for he sure gets dirty during meal time.  He finally said Mama this month but he doesn't really like to say it very often :(!  He loves to say DADA and BABA still all the time.... its funny though he sure does get shy when you try to get him to talk, and then when you want him to be quite he loves to talk and won't be Quiet!  He is already a rule breaker just like his dad.  His favorite things to do this month are to play fetch with himself, he throws a golf ball and then crawls after it as fast as he can, open cabinets and pull everything out, climb up on anything and everything he can, swim- he loves the water, and working out with his dad, L has been putting him in this back pack holder we have for him and running stairs with him.  It is very cute, but I don't know how he does it! It was so funny the other day I left the fridge open while I was making some lunch and he got in there and found a tomato and he started just eating it raw.  It was so funny!

Happy Father's Day!

Sunday was L's first (well with a actually baby, not just one in my belly) Father's Day.  I wanted to make it a special day for him because he has been working so hard this summer and M.J. and I wanted to show him how grateful we are for all he does for us and how lucky we feel to have such an amazing father/husband! We started the day by making him breakfast and then he opened his gift which was some new church clothes.  After that we went to church, and then we came home early because they were doing a dive for dollars competition because L's office that he was in was top office of the company last week.  So L's manager went and got $1,000 dollars worth of gold coins and then threw them all in the pool.  I was worried that someone was going to get hurt but luckily no one was injured and L managed to snag $78 dollars worth of coins! Then we just hung out at the pool for a few hours with the office and had some pizza which was super fun.

 After we were done at the pool I took L to his other surprise which was a massage.  Then after that we just relaxed together as a family and of course watched the Miami and OKC game.  L is so happy that
Miami won! He loves Lebron!  But I just wanted to say how grateful I am for such an amazing Father/husband! He is such an amazing Dad to M.J. and it is so fun to watch them play together they just sit and will laugh at each other for hours!

I also wanted to say how grateful I am for my amazing Dad! We weren't able to see Grandpa M on Father's day but were able to send him a fun gift of Helicopter flying!  We hope that he had a great day and we are so happy and blessed to have him as a Dad/Grandpa!!!

Trip to the Homeland

M.J. and I made a trip to Utah this past week to go visit Grandma and Grandpa M! We have been gone from Utah for over two months now so it was fun to go visit!  We spent most of the week just enjoying family time! We had a lot of fun playing with Grandma and Grandpa M, we miss all of our family so much so it is fun to have a trip to go visit some of them! M.J. was awesome of the plane ride! It is hard though I don't know how people do it with a couple kids by themselves... I guess you do what you have to but I was so lucky with M.J. he was such a trouper.  Here are a few pictures of our Trip.

We ate lunch at Cafe Normandy, which is the most delicious little cafe in Salt Lake I think.  Just looking at these pictures are making me drool! 

9 months old

Our little M.J. is now 9 months olds.  He is such a doll, and I am so blessed to have such a sweet little boy.  He finally got his two bottom teeth in they broke through the day after mother's day and he is getting his top two teeth right now, they haven't broken through yet but they are getting close.... he actually has been pretty good through all of this teething fun, but he sure does drool quite a bit haha.  He is working on walking he can stand by himself for 10 seconds, and can sort of take a step by himself.  He loves walking around holding on to things though.  We got him a little walker toy which he loves to walk around our apartment with.  He hates to sleep though, it is a fight every time to get him to go to sleep unless he is completely exhausted, but it makes it very hard on L and I when he needs to nap, or go to bed it takes forever to get him to sleep!  When he gets close to falling asleep he normally starts to scream or bounce himself back awake again he does not want to miss a thing when he sleeps.  He still only says DADA and BABA he doesn't say MAMA yet, which makes me sad but we are working on it.  He still loves to swim and just be with everyone.  He loves being the center of attention and loves to show off whenever he can!  He definitely is L's son.  He also still loves other kids and babies anytime we see them he starts to squeal with excitement and wants to run and play with them! He is a pretty good eater right now, he is on Stage 2 foods right now and is also trying some of Mom and Dad's food too, he loves Rice and Yogurt right now and he drinks out of most cups like a champ! He finally will occasionally take a pacifier but only for short bursts of time and never when he is upset!  I am still nursing him, and he nurses about 4 or 5 times a day/night.  He still is very picky about sleeping in our bed... he is only lasting a few hours in his bed but we are working on it. He is a very cuddly baby and loves to give hugs and kisses, but he doesn't like to be cuddled unless it is bed time.  He naps two or three times a day normally a short power nap in the morning and then a longer hour to two hour nap in the late afternoon, and occasionally he will take another power nap at around 7 ish.  He still has big bright blue eyes, and is starting to get a little more strawberry blonde hair!  I just love him so much and love seeing him grow and change he is so fun and is just my little buddy that we do everything together! Memphis Home

So we are finally felling settled here in Memphis.  We moved out of that nasty Hotel, and moved into a better hotel for another week, and then finally we moved into our apartments.  They turned out to be very nice.  Its always hard for me during the summer because you can't really decorate and make the apartment homey because you don't want to spend all that money and then throw it away at the end of the summer.  So I decided to decorate some selling posters for L to Motivate him and help decorate a little bit.  Here are some pictures of the apartment.

So that is our apartment.  It is pretty nice, and we are liking it! It came with free high speed Internet and free cable which is awesome! So we just had to rent a t.v. for the summer but it makes it so much nicer sense I am stuck at the apartment most days because L has to go out and sell all day.  But I am so proud of L he is doing so amazing.  He works so hard for M.J. and I and he is always going the extra mile to help me out at home, he is just such an amazing husband, father, and provider for our family.  I am so grateful that I lucked out with such a stud for a husband.  I am so proud of him already he has hit 59 sales (well he has hit more a few have cancelled) and we have only been out here for a month and a week! Yesterday he was in the top three salesmen in all of Deavcon! Sorry we just had to brag a little bit because we Love our L so much and want him to know how amazing he is! Other than that we have just been trucking along, trying to just have fun out here! We get to go to the pool a lot which is super fun, and hang out with the other wives out here which is really awesome.  Hopefully we will start exploring Memphis and find some cool stuff to do!
